Lin Wan, a promising forensic doctor, loses her fiancé Chen Mo—a criminal investigation team leader—who dies from a fall while investigating a "sponge implant death case." The police rule it suicide, but Lin Wan finds blue fibers in his nails (not from the scene) and his last message: "Stay away from the sponge project." Convinced it's murder, she investigates secretly and meets Gu Shen, a provincial cop and Chen Mo's old friend. Though estranged, they team up to unearth the truth: a biotech company's illegal human experiments using cheap sponges instead of medical silicone, killing multiple patients. Then Lin Wan gets an anonymous package with a blood-stained sponge and a note: "You're next." They have 30 days to solve the mystery—otherwise, both the truth and Lin Wan's life will be gone.
