Lin Xiaoman, an overworked office drone, finds a shabby jade pendant inscribed with "Lin Men Hao Meng" (Dreams at the Doorstep) outside her apartment one night. To her shock, it binds to a "reverse wish system"—every time a "dream" is about to come true, it turns into a farce! She chases a winning lottery ticket into the arms of the icy-hot Gu Zhao, tries to look pretty but ends up as a "panda-masked hero" thanks to the system's prank, and even catches her crush holding hands with another guy when she asks him out! Worse still, Gu Zhao is a fallen immortal from the cultivation world, here to retrieve the jade—his "love tribulation artifact"—and insists on staying next door to monitor her until the system deactivates! Caught between a chaotic reverse system and an ascetic immortal neighbor who's secretly softening, Lin Xiaoman's "dreams at the doorstep" are slowly turning into a sweet one: wanting to stay with him, no reversals needed.
