Luo Xiaotang, a young God of Wealth in Heaven, was exiled to the mortal world for mistakenly altering a human's fortune. She must earn enough 'Merit Gold' through business to return. But her first day on earth brings her face to face with her ex-boyfriend Lu Jingshen—the investment banker who dumped her for his career, now her biggest rival. He teams up with competitors to ruin her dessert shop and spreads rumors that she's a fraud. Luo Xiaotang uses her divine 'fortune buff' to fight back: she makes her rival's restaurant suffer 'paranormal incidents' (actually summoning food-loving spirits), while her 'Immortal Flavor Shop' becomes a hit with heavenly recipes. She also develops feelings for Gu Zhao, a gentle barista. When the Merit Gold is almost full, Luo Xiaotang is torn: return to Heaven as a lofty God of Wealth, or stay and hold the hot coffee Gu Zhao offers? Lu Jingshen's sudden regret adds more twists to this earthly adventure...
