Gu Zhaoting, the God of War of Northern Liang, rescues the mute girl A Ruan from assassins and takes her as a maid in his manor. A Ruan is gentle and obedient, but every night she embroiders a crimson lotus burning with ashes—she is actually the missing Crimson Lotus Saintess of the Southern Border, tasked with reviving the sacred altar to save her people. What’s more, the "enemy" she stabbed in the chest five years ago is exactly Gu Zhaoting, who now treats her like the light in his life. When Gu Zhaoting finds the crimson lotus token under A Ruan’s pillow, when Southern Border pursuers break into the manor, their love is entangled with old grudges: she fights for her people’s survival, he seeks vengeance for his past, yet the deep affection in their eyes burns hotter than the lotus in the ashes—Is this encounter in the ashes a fate, or a curse?
