Recent graduate Su Xiaoqing works herself to exhaustion to pay her family's debts and mortgage—covering her brother's tuition and parents' medical bills without a word of complaint. Yet to her family, her sacrifice is merely 'duty': when her brother wants to marry, they demand she transfer the house to him; when she loses her job and can't make payments, they call her 'useless' and even team up with her sister-in-law to seize the property. It's only when Su sees through the hypocrisy of 'family love' that she fights back: the house is her pre-marital asset, and a client she once helped offers her a high-paying job. When the family that exploited her comes begging, she says: 'My sacrifice was never a given.' A story of setting boundaries, watch how a 'doormat' tears down false kindness and becomes her own light.
