Lin Xiaoman wakes up on a earthen kang in Kaoshan Tun, Northeast China, in 1975. Staring at her 8-year-old sister Xiaotao, who is so skinny that only bones are left, the memory of her sister dying from a high fever due to lack of money for treatment in her previous life hits her like a tide—this time, she'll stop the tragedy even if it costs her life! She digs wild vegetables to earn money for her sister's asthma medicine before the cold wave, uses her past-life supermarket accounting skills to help the production team calculate work points and gain trust, secretly saves eggs, weaves straw baskets to sell to supply and marketing staff, and even ventures into the deep mountains with a neighboring village hunter to pick wild ginseng... But the village party secretary's son keeps calling her a 'speculator' and threatening to report her, and what's the hunter's hidden motive for helping her? Can she save her sister's life and help the two sisters build a decent life in this dirt-poor mountain village?
