Lin Wanzhou, a planning manager in the big city, returns to Banhe Village for her grandma's last wish, only to find the once-clear river now stagnant and villagers trapped in poverty despite the stunning landscape. She turns down a promotion and uses her marketing expertise to turn the local dialect into a "traffic password" for live streaming, transforming the old ancestral hall into a popular homestay. She even convinces the stubborn old village head to star in "rustic videos". When the first batch of local products sells out, laughter from the homestay mixes with frog croaks by the river—Lin finally understands what her grandma meant by "roots": not the soil underground, but the heartbeat that brings the hometown back to life.
