Single dad Zhang Mingxiang (raising a daughter alone) and single mom Wang Lijing (caring for a son) meet unexpectedly because their kids are classmates. Both hesitate to love again due to scars from past marriages—Zhang fears his daughter will be wronged by a stepmother, while Wang worries her son will reject a new father. But the kids secretly "ally": the daughter uses Olympiad math problems to "trick" Wang into tutoring, the son invites Zhang to join the football team, and they even stage a "runaway drama" when the adults have a misunderstanding and cold war. When the lie is exposed, the tears of the two parent-child pairs hold the most straightforward truth: Happiness is never about "reassembling"—it’s about "us" finally daring to love again together.
