Burned out by relentless 996 work and workplace exploitation, office worker Lin Xiao quits her job and travels to a remote island homestay called "Freedom Paradise", hoping to finally escape the rat race and find peace. But the homestay owner Shen Yi is cold and aloof, with bizarre house rules: punishment for returning home late, no inquiries into others' pasts, and the attic strictly off-limits. Driven by curiosity, Lin Xiao sneaks into the attic and finds an old photo of a woman who looks exactly like her, while Shen Yi hides a decade-old regretful secret behind his stiff demeanor.
