In the first year of Deyou in the Southern Song Dynasty, Shen Zhao, a female captain of the Golden Coffer Camp, was secretly ordered to guard a bronze box holding the military tally for restoring the Song. But she was ambushed by the Yuan army during transfer. At the edge of death, she was saved by Ye Lvhan, a Yuan general disguised as a Jiangnan merchant—this man helped her evade pursuers yet repeatedly probed the box's location. When Shen discovers Ye's true identity, and when the box's secret uncovers her father's death truth, she must choose between national hatred and her growing feelings: destroy the box to die for Song, or go with this "enemy" into the unknown? Was Ye's approach for his mission to destroy Song, or had he already fallen for her?
