Lin Xiaoman, a modern workaholic, dies from overwork and wakes up in 1996—in the poor mountain village where she grew up. That year, her fiancé broke off the engagement because her family couldn’t afford the bride price, her father broke his leg selling vegetables over the mountain, and the whole village struggled to fill their stomachs. Armed with 20 years of business sense, she targets the wild roses in the back mountain—something a flower shop owner in her past life said could fetch a high price! But she runs into Chen Zhiyuan, the “cold-faced doctor” who, in her previous life, was accused of “cheating money” for helping villagers grow flowers and had to leave. This time, Lin is determined to outrun fate: she’ll lead the village out of poverty with a rose garden AND keep the man who “lived for others” by her side. From bickering partners to poverty-alleviation comrades, they fight skeptical villagers and survive a rainstorm that destroys seedlings. When the first truck of roses is sold in the county town, Chen hands her a dewy rose with red eyes: “I didn’t dare say it last time... This time, I want to plant flowers all over the mountain with you.”
