Su Wan, the female lead, infiltrates the enemy's company under a fake identity to save Gu Shiyan—her "white moonlight" who fell into the sea and lost his memory due to a family frame-up. However, she encounters a "blackened" version of him: he not only forgets her but also forces her into a contract marriage under the pretense of revenge. As Su Wan tries to awaken his gentle original self, she discovers the accident was a plot by Gu's uncles, even linked to her father's death. Under the mask of "husband and wife," they test each other while uncovering the enemy's schemes and confronting their inner turmoil: Is Gu Shiyan's "hatred" for her a misunderstanding from amnesia or a deep-seated fear? When the truth comes to light, can they break the shackles of "black and white" and retrieve their former moonlight?
