Su Wan, the real daughter of the Prime Minister's mansion, was framed and killed by the fake daughter Su Mei in her previous life. Reborn, she is determined to reclaim her identity and dignity. She accidentally meets Ye Jin, the regent hiding his identity—known as the "Living Yama" who kills without mercy, but he is actually plotting to overthrow the consort clan that controls the court. They form an alliance with their own motives: Su Wan helps Ye Jin collect evidence against the consort clan, while Ye Jin aids Su Wan in exposing Su Mei's disguise. As they spend time together, Ye Jin's tenderness is only for Su Wan, and Su Wan discovers that this "merciless killer" harbors deep affection for her. When Su Mei's conspiracy is revealed and the consort clan's blade approaches, are they just partners using each other, or lovers running towards each other?
