Gu Xuanqing, the leader of a reclusive metaphysics sect, descends the mountain to find his sect's sacred relic. Forced to pretend to be a "charlatan" working at a popular online fortune-telling shop, he accidentally crosses paths with Su Wan, a genius forensic doctor. The serial murder case she's investigating involves strange talismans on the victims and unexplainable phenomena that defy science. Su Wan, who believes "evidence is everything," calls Gu a "scammer" but has to team up with him; Gu finds Su's "scientific stubbornness" annoying, yet discovers the relic's disappearance is linked to the mysterious organization behind the murders—and even Su's background hides old secrets from the metaphysical world. From bickering to collaborating, they solve puzzles and uncover truths, while greater danger quietly watches their "powerful alliance."
