Su Xiaotang, a cultural relic restorer, takes on a damaged Song Dynasty painting *General's Journey*. While restoring it, she keeps dreaming of being the girl who took an arrow for the general in the painting. At an auction, she meets Gu Zhao, an entrepreneur who looks exactly like the general—he insists on buying the painting, but Su Xiaotang tries her best to stop him because of the familiarity in her dreams. During their conflicts, a half-piece jade pendant hidden in the painting is found, which perfectly matches the one her grandmother gave her. As fragments of past lives piece together, they realize: this 'unrecognized' meeting is actually a fated encounter spanning a thousand years.
