Chen Mo, a single father and food delivery rider, works until midnight daily to save for an electric blanket for his rheumatic wife. His daughter Xiaotang hides from classmates because her spring choir uniform is torn. He takes a part-time designated driving job but falls and hurts his leg in a snowstorm—only to discover his wife sold her gold necklace to buy the cotton coat he’s longed for half a year, and Xiaotang fixed her uniform with pocket money, embroidering a little sun he gave her. As the family huddles around a heater with hot congee, Chen Mo realizes: the warmest thing isn’t appliances, but each other turning one another’s “wishes” into sweet, warm sugar.
