Lin Chuan fell in love with Su Xiao at first sight when he saw her in a white dress during the freshman orientation. It took him three months to gather the courage to confess, and after they started dating, he solemnly vowed, "I'll only marry you." But Su Xiao suddenly got a serious illness and had to go abroad for treatment. Due to hormone side effects, her weight skyrocketed to over 200 pounds (100 kg). Afraid of burdening Lin Chuan, she cut off contact secretly. Three years later, Lin Chuan ran into Su Xiao at his supermarket—she was applying for a stock clerk position. The once agile girl was now huddled in a loose uniform, even lowering her head flusteredly when making eye contact with him. Lin Chuan pulled out the couple bracelet he'd hidden for three years, squatted down, and held her hand: "I wasn't looking for the girl in the white dress. I was looking for Su Xiao—the one who said she'd raise a corgi with me."
