After winning the Global Medical Sage Championship, Lin Yuan, the "Medical God," disappears mysteriously and becomes a small intern at Jishitang, an old Chinese medicine clinic in the downtown area. When Shen Wanshan, the richest man, collapses from a life-threatening illness and all doctors are helpless, Lin Yuan saves him with a simple home remedy from the drawer. When Sato, a Japanese "ghost doctor," challenges Chinese medicine with his绝活 of "peeling a raw egg without breaking the membrane," Lin Yuan uses silver needles to do it perfectly and humiliates him on the spot. While the whole world is frantically searching for the "missing Medical God," Lin Yuan is following an old prescription from Jishitang to track down the culprit who killed his master—and that culprit is actually his uncle who catches herbs with him every day!
