Su Wan, a cultural relic restorer, travels to an East China Sea island to restore the "Foggy Boat Painting" from a late Ming Dynasty sunken ship. However, she mistakenly boards a maritime archaeology team's boat in heavy fog—at the helm is Gu Zhao, her ex-boyfriend who left without a word seven years ago over a "betrayal" misunderstanding. Now the team's captain, Gu Zhao has the unfinished "Foggy Boat Painting" (the cause of their past argument) locked in the cabin, along with a secret: he left to search for maritime clues about Su Wan's missing father, and the sunken ship's painting is linked to her father's disappearance. Shrouded in fog, they must solve the relic's mystery while confronting their old misunderstanding and lingering love.
