Lin You, a fresh graduate from the Chinese mainland studying in Hong Kong, finds a stack of unsent love letters signed "The Night Harbour Watchman" in her late father’s old suitcase. Every letter holds delicate sentiments but lacks an addressee. Following the dock clues, she tracks down Old Chen, a night-shift warehouse keeper who keeps silent and only hands her a faded old photo. Lin You finds a stranger’s contact behind the photo and traces her to an art gallery, finally uncovering her father’s long-concealed secret: the letters were carriers for funding a poor girl with a similar background, and "The Night Harbour Watchman" was his private code with Old Chen—representing his unspoken tender kindness.
