Lin Wan, captain of the interstellar rescue team, risks everything to traverse a wormhole to retrieve Chen Mo, an astronaut missing for a decade. But when she finds his drift capsule, Chen Mo points a particle gun at her—he reveals Earth was destroyed in a stellar explosion long ago, and the capsule holds the “Star Seed” preserved by the entire crew with their lives, humanity’s last hope for civilization. As the wormhole collapses, Lin Wan looks into Chen Mo’s red-rimmed eyes and realizes: the “home” she sought was never a coordinate, but guarding hope with someone important. In the final second of the countdown, she takes his hand: “I’ll stay.” The capsule sails toward the Star Seed’s direction, leaving the dissipating wormhole behind, heading for a new beginning in the scorching galaxy.
