Lin Shen, a third-generation embalmer guarding an old-town mortuary, inherits the "Soul Crossing Technique" that allows him to sense the lingering thoughts of the deceased. On Ghost Festival night, a young woman's body—Su Xiao, dressed in a red dress—was brought in, listed as having "committed suicide by jumping off a building." But when Lin touched her, he felt a fierce will to live—she had been murdered! At 3 AM, the mortuary cameras suddenly went black. When he rushed in, the body was gone, leaving only a blood-cursed yellow paper—it was an evil "Soul-Stealing Array"! He realized someone was stealing corpses on Ghost Festival to extract souls for dark magic. Tracking Su Xiao's residual thoughts, Lin discovered that her "Taoist boyfriend" was the killer: he had murdered Su Xiao to use her virgin soul for a powerful ritual on Ghost Festival. Using the family heirloom "Soul Crossing Bell," Lin destroyed the array, exorcised the evil spirit, gave Su Xiao peace, and uncovered the truth behind recent "suicide" cases—all the work of the fake Taoist!
