Deep in an old alley, Lin Xiaomian took over her grandfather’s century-old letter shop, remembering only one rule: lock the door at midnight sharp and never take "midnight orders." But on her first night, she encountered uncanny scenes: a woman in a Republic of China cheongsam crying to mail half an old photo, a veteran leaning on a crutch holding a letter with no address. Every letter tied to an unfinished obsession. From panic to compromise, Xiaomian got drawn into the shop’s secrets, until she found she was the recipient of the last "dead letter" — it turned out her grandfather had been helping people fulfill unfulfilled wishes all along, and these midnight tales were to help her solve her own life mystery from 30 years ago.
