22-year-old Lin Xiaoman was sent to a women's prison for "excessive self-defense". As soon as she pushed open the cell door, she was mocked and surrounded by old inmates led by "Sister Dao"—they cut her sweater with her daughter's photo inside, smashed her mother's ceramic cup, and even tried to steal her only keepsake: a silver bracelet engraved with "safety". When Sister Dao's cigarette was about to burn the bracelet, Lin Xiaoman suddenly spun around and kicked her into a laundry basin, then grabbed the wrists and twisted the elbows of two followers who rushed up, pinning them to the ground. The cell fell silent instantly. She rolled up her sleeve to reveal a martial arts team tattoo: "My dad is a Wing Chun master, and I won the provincial championship at 16—don't cross my line." Sister Dao got up holding her shoulder and immediately apologized with a smile. Late at night, Lin Xiaoman stared at the bracelet—no one knew the truth behind her "excessive self-defense": she did it to protect her mother from domestic violence.
