Lin Xiaoman returns to Mist Town to find her missing sister, only to be repeatedly stopped by Gu Chuan, the lighthouse keeper, from approaching the mist. One night, she sneaks into the mist and catches a glimpse of her sister—turning around, she crashes into Gu Chuan's arms, who holds an old bronze lamp with fingers glowing the same hue as the mist. It turns out Gu Chuan can enter the “Memory Corridor” within the mist; her sister got trapped in a realm of obsession while investigating the town's old “no survivors” case. Gu Chuan fears Xiaoman will follow her sister's path, but she insists: “When the mist clears, I'll bring my sister home.” As they step into the deepest layer of mist together, they find a line from her sister's old diary—“The mist is never a barrier; it's unspoken guardianship.”
