Lin Jiu, the most unremarkable paper craftsman on Qingshiban Street, can make lifelike paper figures and horses with his skilled hands—but he’s suddenly thrust into the spotlight over a wealthy man’s locked-room murder. The crime scene has a paper peony he sold just the day before, its petals stained with the victim’s blood! Detective Li grits his teeth and asks for his help: “Your paper crafts have a ‘life force’—only you can read the killer’s code!” Lin Jiu clutches the blood-streaked paper peony, his fingers trembling: he never uses real materials for his crafts, but the silk of this peony belongs to his师妹 who’s been missing for three years… Between clearing his name and uncovering the secret of his师妹, this paper craftsman’s bamboo knife isn’t cutting paper figures this time—it’s slicing open the ghosts in people’s hearts!
