Burnt-out office worker Lin Xiaoman stumbles onto an old town rooftop on a rainy night—dumped and fired. There she finds Gu Shi in a linen shirt burying white hydrangeas—he calls them “cloud seeds” that send wishes to loved ones. Xiaoman thinks he’s crazy but helps build a greenhouse anyway. When the hydrangeas bloom like clouds, Gu Shi vanishes, leaving a diary: his late sister’s wish was to “grow a touchable cloud,” and Xiaoman helped him face his loss. One morning, Xiaoman pushes the rooftop door open—Gu Shi stands there with arms full of white hydrangeas, the dawn sky like crushed dawn glow behind him. This time, they’re growing a cloud for two.
