Lin Chuan, diagnosed with terminal liver cancer, sorts through his belongings in his rental apartment and finds the couple’s necklace from his ex-girlfriend Xu Nian. He writes a final letter: “Among my remains, you count as one—the unsaid apologies and love are my last goodbye.” But when he slips the letter into Xu Nian’s mailbox, he turns to see her—haggard and thin, clutching his medical records, crying: “I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last week. I wanted to leave quietly… But you didn’t include me in your remains, while mine are filled with you!” It turns out both had been hiding their倒计时 from each other, yet they saw each other as the most precious “remain” in their lives. This mutual “concealment” finally becomes the courage to “face it together.”
