Si Yan, a thousand-year-old nine-tailed fox, descends to the modern world to find his reincarnated lover Fuying, only to bump into the quirky Su Zhenyue—she not only has Fuying’s face but also holds an ancient wish coin that can summon nine-tailed foxes. When Si Yan tries to use the coin to唤醒 past memories, he finds that Su Zhenyue’s heartbeat directly tugs at his fox tail; when he thinks “retrieving Fuying” is his only destiny, Su Zhenyue’s words, “I’m not her—I’m the one who wants to live today with you,” suddenly pierce the shell of his千年 obsession. But the coin hides a bigger secret: back then, Fuying injected her soul fragment into the coin to save the gravely injured Si Yan—Su Zhenyue is essentially the “unfinished Fuying.” To continue the past regret or embrace the present sweetness? The nine-tailed fox’s thousand-year quest for love will finally find the warmest answer between “old shadow” and “new light.”
