Lin Wan, owner of Guixu Hall (a shop specializing in banishing evil spirits), urgently needs a person with pure yang constitution to break a deadly evil array. Gu Chengyuan, heir to the Gu Group, seeks Lin Wan's help to cure his grandfather's 'evil-caused coma'. With their own agendas, they strike a deal: Gu Chengyuan becomes Lin Wan's 'temporary partner', and Lin Wan heals his grandfather. What starts as mutual exploitation shifts—Gu Chengyuan's loyal devotion (blocking evil for her without hesitation, remembering her favorite osmanthus wine, panicking when she's hurt) gradually melts Lin Wan's cold heart. Lin Wan, once profit-driven, starts secretly helping Gu Chengyuan avoid his grandfather's marriage reminders and bringing him hot congee when he stays up late guarding his grandfather. But when the truth of the evil array is revealed, Grandpa's illness is linked to the same evil Lin Wan is trying to banish. Continue the deal, or risk their hearts? An encounter born from interest becomes a bond forged by love.
