Pastry chef Xia Tang returns to China to open her studio and scorns her neighbor Gu Zhao's "rational elite style", repeatedly saying "I'll never cross paths with him". But when Gu quietly fixes her oven, remembers her hatred of bitterness, and stays up all night testing new desserts with her, her heart races uncontrollably—she'd fallen for him at first glance. Little does she know, Gu's notebook is filled with secrets like "Xia Tang's lemon tart needs 10 minutes to cool" and "Bring her hot cocoa when she cries". This "saying no but loving hard" crush finally breaks through the thin pretense in the scent of hot cocoa on a rainy night.
