Gu Zhao, the notorious playboy of the Gu Group, struggles daily to prove to Su Wan—whom he’s secretly loved for three years—that he’s not just a reckless guy who clubs and races cars. He sends flowers (which Su Wan gives to the cleaner), waits outside her office (she tells him to “stay away”), even pretends to be a delivery guy to bring her favorite candied tomatoes. But Su Wan remains icy. Until a party where Gu Zhao takes a spiked drink for her. Before passing out, he confesses: “I’m not playing—I’m just scared you’ll find me annoying.” Su Wan, holding his bleeding hand, finds the stack of candy wrappers she’s secretly collected—she’d long ago kept his “annoyance” close to her heart.
