Lin Xiaoman, a workaholic ad planner, is constantly summoned to school because her 10-year-old son Xiaoyu spends all his time making crafts from快递 boxes instead of studying. She’s always buried in PPTs, worrying: “What’s the point of this?” Until a client suddenly demands an eco-friendly campaign—her all-nighter proposal gets rejected. But when she comes home at 2 AM, she finds Xiaoyu’s “flower-watering robot” made from the “trash” she’d always discarded. That’s exactly the vivid idea her proposal lacked! At the school science fair, Xiaoyu’s creation even helps a cleaner retrieve garbage from a high building, and his teacher says, “This kid’s creativity—he’s a born eco-designer.” Lin finally realizes: “Usefulness” isn’t about copying others’ success—it’s about seeing the light hidden in what others call “unproductive.”
