Lin Xiaoman, an ordinary office worker, was suddenly hit by the "Underworld Civil Servant System" while staying up late to finish a project. She was forced to work part-time as a soul collector and handle ghost complaints—helping a programmer who died from overwork claim overtime pay, or delivering "unfulfilled regret packages" to a grudgy old lady. She tried to hide her identity and muddle through, but accidentally discovered that her cold neighbor Lu Shiyan is actually an Underworld Supervisor! What's more, the system task requires her to "charm" Lu Shiyan? While dealing with oops moments caused by ghosts (like mistaking a cat's soul for a CEO's), she also engages in sweet bickering with Lu Shiyan in both "neighbor" and "workplace" scenarios. Lin Xiaoman cries and confesses: "I'm just a worker!" But as the task progresses, she finds that Lu Shiyan's "coldness" hides a shocking secret about her past life...
