Gu Tingshen, the nation's guardian war god, spent three years defeating border barbarians. But upon his return, he finds his beloved Lin Wan being forced to marry Qin Yu, the Qin family's young master, who threatened her with her father's life. He storms the wedding hall alone with a sword. Amid fluttering red silk, he presses the sword to Qin Yu's throat: "Three years ago, I took a knife for the Qin family—not so you could touch my woman!" When the silk falls, his blood-stained war god seal stings the guests' eyes—that's the "Yama" (King of Hell) who terrifies enemies, here to ruin the Qin wedding for a woman. Beneath the veil, Lin Wan hears his voice, tears soaking her dress: she thought she was marrying hell, but waits for her hero.
