A distressed tavern owner, desperate for treasure money to pay debts, puts his ancestral tavern up for sale. Unexpectedly, he finds half a treasure map in a hidden compartment—thinking it will make him rich overnight, he’s shocked to link the map to a decades-old rebel restoration conspiracy. Trapped with no way out, he doesn’t rely on gold; instead, using tiny clues from patrons and his built-up connections, he sets a counter-kill game in the tavern, turning despair into a chance to reverse the odds.
