Lin Xiaoman, a voice actress for the late-night radio show "Silent Tree Hole", has spent three years reading listeners' letters of longing—hiding her own obsession with Gu Chuan, her missing boyfriend. Gu Chuan, a photographer of deaf children, fell off a cliff saving a kid years ago, and everyone thought he died. Yet Xiaoman always spotted a figure like him outside her studio. One day, she receives a wordless "letter": a photo of a deaf child signing "I miss you", with Gu Chuan's whale keychain in the background. Following the clue to a remote deaf school, Xiaoman finds Gu Chuan—alive but deaf, hiding for three years to avoid burdening her. When she plays her three years of longing as audio, letting Gu Chuan "hear" it through vibrations, they realize: Fortunately, longing is silent, but it has long carved their heartbeats into time.
