In the Republic of China era, Su Wantang, a warrior actress in an opera troupe, saved Gu Zhaoning, a returned overseas student, from assassins on Mid-Autumn Night. They fell in love under crabapple trees dusted with frost. But Gu had to flee the next day due to family feuds, promising her a "three-year vow". Three years later, the troupe was framed and disbanded. Su changed her name and ran a noodle shop at the dock. On a late autumn morning, Gu—now in a suit—stood outside her shop holding the same crabapple tree from years ago, with a "fiancée" in Western dress behind him. When old love collides with new circumstances, can they unravel the misunderstandings of the past under the frost-dusted crabapples?
