Jin Xinxin, a new investment banker, and Yi Meng, a cultural relic restorer, were once campus sweethearts who drifted apart due to their stubborn “for your own good” choices. Jin worked day and night to save for a wedding house, only to be misunderstood as “becoming vulgar” by Yi; Yi spent half a year in a northwest construction site restoring a Song Dynasty celadon vase, missing Jin’s birthday and promotion party. When wild geese flew over the city in late autumn, they met by chance at the airport—Jin held a set of relic restoration tools he’d saved three months’ salary for, while Yi carried a peace pendant made from celadon shards from the site. Staring at each other’s red-rimmed eyes, they finally realized: all the unspoken care was hidden in their stubbornness of “not wanting you to suffer.”
