Returned architect Zheng Nian comes back to his hometown with the "Jingzhi Lane Renovation Plan", only to encounter Han Ruiying, his ex-girlfriend whom he left without a word seven years ago—now she's the guardian of a homestay in the lane. Zheng Nian's sudden disappearance back then is a grudge Han Ruiying has harbored for seven years; now he wants to "renovate" her obsession, and they go from bickering to forced collaboration to solve the old lane's problems. When the old carving "Niannian & Ruirui" under the old locust tree resurfaces, the secret that Zheng Nian left to raise money for her terminally ill mother finally comes to light—this reunion titled "goodbye"—is it to bid a final farewell to the past, or to reclaim the love they lost?
