Lin Wanxiang (played by Zhu Xinyuan), a widowed rural daughter-in-law, is misunderstood by her mother-in-law and gossiped about by villagers because of the 100,000-yuan debt left by her husband. Yet she grits her teeth and plants roses on the wasteland behind the mountain—determined to support her broken family on her own. Zhou Xiu (played by Jiao Na), the village head's daughter, repeatedly sabotages the rose garden out of jealousy of her closeness to veterinarian Chen Mo (played by Li Mengyang); her best friend A Ju (played by Guo Siyan) secretly borrows money for her but is domestically abused by her husband... When the roses are about to bloom, a heavy rain strikes. Can Lin Wanxiang, crouching in the mud to protect the seedlings, wait for her spring? In 96 episodes, watch a rural woman transform from "grass trampled in the mud" to "a flower blooming in the wind."
