Ma De, the most "worthless" farmer in Li Village, guarded three acres of poor farmland after his parents' death and was mocked by the village bully for "growing lopsided watermelons." Until he found his grandfather's rusty copper pot— the black soil inside made his watermelon vines bear half-human-tall "golden bumps"— when cut open, the flesh glowed with pure gold! The village exploded: the bully brought thugs to rob the melons, jewelers offered millions for the "exclusive formula," and even Xiao Hui, the village beauty he secretly loved, came to help. But as more gold watermelons grew, the black soil in the pot dwindled, and mysterious vine-like lines appeared on Ma De's palm. Worse, Zhang Shuai, his childhood friend who'd been helping him, secretly sent photos of the gold watermelons to the black market... Can Ma De keep his grandfather's secret? What price do the lines on his palm hold?
