In the early Republic of China, Shen Wantang, heir to a Su embroidery family, infiltrates warlord Gu Jingchuan's mansion as an embroideress under an alias to uncover the truth behind her father's murder—linked to their family's heirloom qipao. She plans to get close to Gu by repairing the qipao with a misplaced "twin lotus" design, only to find he holds a letter tied to her father's death. They test each other with hidden agendas, but gradually fall for each other amid the stitching. Yet when Shen finally secures the letter, she discovers the truth points to her late mother; meanwhile, Gu has long known her identity but struggles between revenge and protection because of his love. A qipao with a mistake binds two generations' grudges and two loving hearts—can they hold onto their true feelings amid the conspiracy?
