Meng Chan, a boatman's daughter in Yunwan Town, rescues Gu Zhao, a mysterious man who falls into the water with serious injuries, at the ferry late at night. Gu Zhao has amnesia but carries a half-piece jade pendant that matches the Meng family's heirloom. As Gu Zhao's identity is revealed—he is the eldest legitimate son of the Gu family in the capital who is being hunted—Meng Chan is drawn into the Gu family's power struggle. What's even crueler is that the death of Meng Chan's father is actually related to Gu Zhao's father. Can the moonlight vow made on the lonely boat withstand the huge wave of family blood feud? The two struggle in the vortex of love and hate, every step treading on the blade of fate.
