Lin Xiaoman, a modern corporate slave, travels to the fictional Da Zhao Dynasty while working overtime late at night, becoming Li Mo—a commoner who makes a living growing melons. He just wants to live a quiet, ordinary life, but strange things keep happening: mysterious men sneak into his melon shed at night to kill him, former officials of the previous dynasty kneel before him in tears, calling him "Young Master," and even the current powerful minister sends his daughter to "force a marriage" to win him over. What's more absurd is that his modern thermos—brought from the future—hides the imperial seal of Da Zhao, lost for a century! On one side are the unseen villains trying to kill him, on the other are the passionate former officials determined to make him emperor and restore the country, plus Ah Zhao, the quirky little doctor who's quietly fallen for him.
