Lao Zhou's Dumpling Shop, which only opens at 10 PM, holds the warmest secrets of the city—Boss Lao Zhou always leaves an empty bowl by the pot, never prying into customers' stories, yet he'll push a vinegar dish to a heartbroken girl with red eyes and serve the softest dumplings to an overworked programmer with a weak stomach. Lin Xiaoman, newly unemployed, takes shelter from the rain here and stumbles upon Lao Zhou's phone lock screen: a girl wearing the same silver lock as herself. It turns out his daughter went missing in front of the shop ten years ago, and he's been waiting, hoping she'll return one day, lured by the smell of dumplings.
