Gu Jingshen, a wealthy heir, has never believed in "backing down"—until he meets Lin Wan, a rookie lawyer fighting for her wrongfully fired best friend. She storms into his top-floor office, slamming his custom pen on the desk: "I refuse to accept your rule of firing employees arbitrarily!" For the first time, Gu encounters someone bold enough to "fight back" in his territory—and he’s amused. "Let’s make a bet," he smirks. "Be my assistant for three months. If you can make me admit defeat, I’ll give your friend triple compensation. If not… stay with me and be a 'compliant' person." Thus begins their battle of wills: Lin uses legal clauses to dismantle his "unfair contracts," while he teases her with "high heels for morning meetings"; she fights for a cleaner’s overtime pay, and he secretly settles her family’s medical debts… When the young master who "tames defiance" starts sneakingly covering her drinks, picking up her dropped files—this bet about "who will submit" has long changed its nature. Did he cure her "defiance," or did she cure his "arrogance"?
