Young cultural relic restorer Lin Yan returns to her hometown to renovate a century-old covered bridge. She stumbles upon her grandfather's Republican Era construction journal, which details the story of a female craftsman named Su Yan—same as her own—who led a team to protect the bridge 100 years ago. Every bridge plank she restores grants her fleeting visions of the raging flood and Su Yan risking her life to reinforce the bridge piers. As the renovation progresses, Lin Yan uncovers the truth behind Su Yan's mysterious disappearance, tied tightly to her family's generations-old secret of guarding the bridge, launching a century-spanning tale of guardianship and inheritance.
