Forensic pathologist Lin Wan reunites with her first love Chen Mo, who disappeared ten years ago, in a "perfect suicide case"—now he is the deceased's husband and the prime suspect. The mysterious drug in the autopsy report, the "avenger" message in the deceased's diary, and the old pendant (a love token Lin Wan gave him years ago) hidden in Chen Mo's cuff all lead to Lin's untold past: ten years ago, she forged a key piece of evidence to protect Chen Mo. When the "echo of good and evil" breaks through the shell of memory, Lin must choose between "guarding her lover" and "uncovering the truth" in a heartbeat trial—only to find that the deceased is the sister of the girl they "indirectly killed" back then, and her "suicide" is a "reckoning of good and evil" aimed at both of them.
