Modern girl Nanxing is reborn as "Sanmao", a homeless child in the war-torn ancient times. Waking up, she accidentally witnesses Shen Zhao, the son of a general, being chased while fighting for a steamed bun—instinctively, she knocks out an assassin with her broken bowl, thus getting entangled in power struggles. Shen Zhao, pretending to be a playboy to avenge his family, initially uses Sanmao to spy on the enemy, but is moved by her tenacity—even when starving, she protects a stray dog. Sanmao transforms from a starving beggar to a "little strategist" who can gather food, recruit soldiers, and help Shen Zhao escape ambushes. However, when she discovers that the mastermind behind her modern death and ancient family's ruin is the same person Shen Zhao is after, will this mutual redemption in the flames become an insurmountable gap?
